Role in the Story[]
Vel Virazzo is a conservatively sized city to the south of Tal Verrar, off the coast of the Sea of Brass. It is renowned for its luxurious bay, which contains the richest´s yachts and personal boats.[]
After the conflict with the Gray King and the consequent escape from Cammor, Locke Lamora and Jean Tannen find themselves in Vel Virazzo, where Locke recovers from his wounds and Jean takes control of the city's underworld.
After Jean convinces Locke to quit drinking, they leave the city and make for Tal Verrar, where the beginning of the Red Seas Under Red Skies takes place.
At the end of the book, Locke and Jean return to Vel Virazzo, where they acquire a small yacht.
